homemade chik- fil- a bites with zax sauce

I really don't know anybody who doesn't love chicken nuggets. Or delicious, delicious chik- fil- a chicken nuggets. They are a very strange combination of being sweet and savory at the same time. As sacrilegious as it sounds, I paired the delicious chicken nuggets with Zax sauce- something most Northerners are not familiar with. But it's something that you will LOVE.
Check out my cool new bowls! Made from recycled plastic, just like...
My new measuring cups and spoons! They are great.
A key to this recipe is the crust, so you have to star by marinating in egg and milk first.
While that's chillin' in the fridge, mix up the magic. That's the sauce you see above. The magic.
DO NOT be scared of the fact that this chicken breading has powdered sugar in it. That's what MAKES this breading.
Fry to golden perfection and live by these rules always with chicken- check first. Always cut a piece open from each batch to make sure that everything is cooked through. Drain on a paper towel and serve hot. You're welcome.
Homemade Chik- Fil- A Bites with Zax Sauce
Found at the amazing Six Sister's Stuff page.
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast
1 1/4 cup flour
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
2 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 quart vegetable oil for frying
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
Black pepper
Salt

Preheat 2 inches of oil in over medium heat. In a large bowl, whisk together egg and milk. Dice chicken into 1 inch cubes and marinate in egg mixture for at least 1/2 hour in the fridge. Meanwhile, mix together flour, sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Also, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic powder, worcestershire sauce. When that is all combined, cover the sauce with pepper and mix. Cover one more time with pepper and stir again. Take chicken out of the fridge and toss 10-12 pieces in the flour. Cook in oil for 2 minutes on either side and chicken is cooked all the way through. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel. Dust with salt. Repeat with all the chicken. Serve with sauce and enjoy!
