nutella brownies

I've never made brownies from scratch before. Isn't that kind of strange? In all my live long years, I've never once attempted to make a brownie from scratch. Always the box. It just seemed so much easier. Then this recipe crossed my path. I read it and was astounded that most of the steps that it takes to make a brownie from scratch is what you need to do to make one from the box! Life changed.
Add that to the fact there is delicious, delicious Nutella in these brownies, and I was basically sold. Even Nutella the company knows how delish their stuff is- the cap it in gold!
Melted butter is the starter. Something that you have to do with box brownies anyway.
Mix in sugar and melt.
Stir in the Nutella, and try to now to start eating it yet.
Cocoa! Beat it up.
Eggs! Then all the other good things, like baking soda and flour and junk.
Annnnd some extra chocolate chips for good measure.
Pour it into a well greased pan and pop into the oven!
30 minutes later, and this is what you get!!! So good. So tempting. So moist and gooey. So gone in a flash.
Nutella Brownies
More good stuff from Buns in my Oven :)
1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Nutella
4 large eggs
1 1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips, semi sweet

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter or grease a 9x13 baking dish. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and continue to heat until sugar is melted. Do not allow butter and sugar to boil. Cook this for 1-2 minutes until sugar is melted. Remove from heat and stir in Nutella. Pour butter and Nutella  mixture into a large mixing bowl. Beat in cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and vanilla extract. Add in the 4 large eggs and beat until smooth. Add in flour slowly and beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter in greased baking dish and bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. A tester should come out mostly clean. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy!
