deli pizza with herb garlic crust

This is an all out from scratch pizza. Even the crust is made special for this pizza! Herbed garlic crust really makes this pie, as well as the deli toppings.
Yeast needs to be prepped for the dough, so well have to let it ferment for a little while. Sugar loves yeast and helps it be yummy, so it's a must. The water must be warm, but not too warm. It's a delicate balance.
Meanwhile, get the flour ready by adding in Italian seasonings and garlic powder.
When the yeast looks frothy, this when it's ready.
You have 2 options when it comes to the dough- mix with a mixer or really work it with your hands. I'm lazy. I used the mixer. Cover, let rise for 20 minutes and then stretch it out for the pie.
I always stretch out my dough too thin in certain places, but I just use little pieces from around the edge to patch the thin spots. Turns out just fine!
Sauce, half the cheese and then onions.
Slice your deli meat into cubes or little rectangles like this to top on the pizza.
Pepperoncinis, grape tomatoes, the rest of the cheese and the meat are the stars of the show. Into the oven for 10 minutes- but keep an eye out for burning! It is sooo good.
Deli Pizza with Herbed Garlic Crust
Thank you, Jo Cooks, for this one!
1 package dry active yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup and 2 Tablespoons warm water
1 1/2 cup and 2 Tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/4 cup sliced onion
2 cups shredded cheese, mozzarella and cheddar
1 cup various deli meats , sliced (like ham, turkey, roast beef or chicken)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup pepperoncini pepper, sliced

Combine together sugar, yeast and warm water in a small bowl. Allow to ferment for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together flour, salt, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. When yeast is frothy, add it into the seasoned flour. Combine together using a stand mixer or hand mixer until just combined. Remove from bowl and drizzle with oil. Knead several times. Transfer oiled dough into a bowl and cover. Let rise for 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Remove dough from bowl and roll out dough to fit onto a pizza pan. Top pizza with pizza sauce, a thin layer of cheese and onions. Continue building pizza with deli meat, remaining cheese, cherry tomatoes and peppers. Put pizza into the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until pie is hot, crispy and bubbly. Serve hot and enjoy!
